ALL IN THE DETIALS: Statement, Style and Stripes

Carolina Herrera once said, “Fashion has always been a repetition of ideas, but what makes it new is the way you put it together.” I have always thought that one of the most amazing things about fashion is free expression and dressing the way you want to. What better way to make your outfit different from the girl next to you than wearing accessories that no one has seen before? Or mixing and matching prints that are outgoing enough that most would stray away from them?

While I was roaming the streets of New York this week, I spotted this Fashionista sitting with some of her friends. I knew I had to stop and take her picture because the way she accessorized and put her outfit together was so different! She wore separate pieces that are ordinary on their own, but the way she put them together makes her look so fashionable. I mean, wouldn’t you want to hang out in New York City with this girl?

Mixing and matching patterns can be a tricky business, but when you do it in the right way, you look effortlessly chic. This Fashionista wore a longer tank top dress with a horizontal black and white stripe design. On top of the dress, she wore a vest with navy and red stripes that were on a diagonal. This gave a simple dress an upgrade in the best way!

What really stands out with this outfit are the killer accessories that this Fashionista is sporting. I had never seen a necklace like that before; it almost has an Egyptian feel to it. She topped her look off with some gladiator sandals, rings, a gold cuff bangle and some cool reflective sunglasses.

How To: Does mixing patterns scare you? No worries! Why not start off small and try mixing and matching simple prints? To upgrade your look, just throw on some one of a kind jewelry and you’ll be able to conquer anything, while looking so stylish!
