ALL IN THE DETAILS: You've Got Me In Chains

With summer closing in on us, no one wants to be wearing too many layers or too much jewelry since it’s just going to become cumbersome in the heat. So, investing in a few great statement accessories is the way to go. Plus, it’ll cut your getting ready time in half, which is just a bonus!

I immediately fell in love with the way this Fashionista’s simple outfit was made immensely more interesting with this leather and chain belt. If she had chosen to pair it with another loud piece, it easily could’ve been too much. However, she kept the rest of her outfit super simple to show off this killer accessory.

A white Henley is the best of both worlds—both cute and comfortable. This one looks like it could’ve been stolen from a college guy’s closet, which is all any of us really want, right? The oversized fit goes perfectly with a pair of distressed denim shorts, giving you the “I just threw this on and still look cute” aesthetic.

She pulled together the effortlessly cool look with a pair of brown suede ankle boots, showing off her amazing legs and enhancing her envious height. (I’ll take a few inches if you don’t want them!).

How To: This Fashionista is the kind of girl you’d see on the street or in a store and wonder how she thought to pair all of these things together, knowing you’d look at that same exact belt and be too nervous about pulling it off. I am here to tell you that you can. Have you ever really looked at someone with a slightly daring outfit and thought they couldn’t pull it off? Most likely, no. So they’re not going to be doing it to you either. Go out on a limb this summer! Try out some more detailed accessories, like the often overlooked coolness of a belt, with your favorite white T-shirt and your best fitting pair of jeans or shorts—whatever you’re most comfortable in. If you want to add some color, try out a fun nail polish, like the baby blue shown here. It’ll give you that perfect “cool girl” look that we are all secretly striving for.
