All IN THE DETAILS: Too Many Trends

When a new season rolls around, so do a couple of new trends that you see everywhere! This summer, I’ve seen lots of cold-shoulder tops, denim skirts, chokers and block heels and I couldn’t be more okay with it. These blast from the past pieces make it so easy to grab from my mom’s closet or a local thrift store! But with so many new trends to rock, we  have to be careful not to over do it. Combining trends is risky business, but when done right can make an elevated, effortless ensemble!

The secret to pulling off two trends at once and not looking like an overachiever is picking pieces that work well together! This Fashionista achieves this perfectly by adding two head-turning pieces that flatter her silhouette. The cold-shoulder trend has been dominating summer 2016 and this Fashionista chose this super-chic striped top with a peplum shape to show off her waist. Her second trend piece is her denim maxi skirt. Choosing this was risky because her figure could have easily gotten lost under both trend pieces, but because they’re tailored to fit her perfectly, she looks ravishing. Since the pieces look so good together, she was able to add detailed accessories like blue suede shoes (what’s good Elvis?!) and unique sunnies.

How To: To rock a look like this, choose trends that complement each other and most importantly complement your figure! A look like this is hard to pull off, but with a little extra attention to detail like this Fashionista took time to do, you can be a sidewalk spotlight!
