ALL IN THE DETAILS: The Camel Cocoon

March 17th, 2015 at 2:00am

Fall 2015 ready-to-wear collections have finally come to an end for the fashion capitals of the world, as the season leisurely transitions from winter to spring. The camel coat was a major piece in various collections and could be spotted on the runways of Max Mara (with Marilyn Monroe being the muse!), MSGM, Nili Lotan and many more. These tanned-colored cocoon-like coats bring us the cutting edge wardrobe we so desire season after season.

This week, I was fortunate enough to find a Fashionista who was able to pull off the fashion-forward camel coat effortlessly! The masculine cut and sharp tailoring give shape, while the structured collar and camel color give a sense of formality. Since these coats come in a warm color, they look flattering against all skin tones and help create that timeless and polished look to any outfits, whether casual or dressy. With the midi length, these coats offer lots of options for footwear, such as ankle boots, over-the-knee boots, pumps or even oxfords.

This Fashionista opts for an all-black outfit underneath her coat. Black and camel create such an elegant look and the turtleneck sweater (‘90s throwback!) adds on that ultra-chic vibe. For accessories, she has on a white Michael Kors watch, which gives a little bit of a pop of color, while her metallic tote has a more settled look.

How To: Want to stay toasty and looking stylish without the heavy outerwear? Layer on your trusty camel coat that seamlessly matches with your whole wardrobe and you’ll be able to combat the chilly weather, while feeling warm and fuzzy and still looking utterly put together.
