I’m not normally a dress person, but when I wear them, they’re almost always an array of floral prints and exotic colors. Summertime is the ideal season to rock floral print and flouncy dresses to match the bright and sunny weather. The little details in each dress, be it a babydoll, cutout or maxi, can make the whole look pop. This Fashionista wore a great summer ensemble, using those important details to make her outfit fresh, cool and perfect for the weather.
This Fashionista wore an adorably feminine dress that hugged above her hips and flowed out to show off her figure. The back of the dress was cut out and added a bit of sexiness to the otherwise girly dress. What really caught my eye was the total white canvas, decorated with dainty flowers throughout. The dress’s print isn’t overbearing, but it makes the overall look interesting and summery.
This Fashionista layered up her look with a lacy navy sweater, pulling from some of the colors within the flowers in the dress. It’s always important to have a sweater with you, even during the summer, especially in LA! From air conditioned rooms to when the sun goes down, having a sweater handy is a good idea. The Fashionista stuck with the white canvas and rocked a pair of white Converse. This addition made the look casual and versatile. Dresses can be dressed down, like this Fashionista’s, with a pair of sneakers or loafers, but also easily dressed up with some wedges or pointed toe flats.
For the time we have left in the beautiful summer season, take out your dresses and focus on the little details, like prints and colors!
How To: Find a a girly, flouncy dress that flatters your figure and accentuates the bright colors of the season. Dress it up with a pair of nude wedges or make it casual with some loafers.
