ALL IN THE DETAILS: So Clutch

Lately, I have been seeing oversized clutches everywhere. They are a nod to Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw, whose decorative Judith Leiber clutches are iconic. However, this time around, the trend is more functional. These clutches, also called pouches, allow just enough space for all of your essentials. Women are infamous for having oversized purses that contain half of their belongings inside. Alas, gone are the days of large, heavy purses with contents that will prepare you for a flood, fire or famine. While it’s good to be prepared, simplicity is key, ladies.

This Fashionista paired an effortlessly simple yet chic outfit with her graphic clutch. Starting with black skinny jeans, she tucked in a soft white sweater. The brown and black heeled ankle booties help to dress up the outfit and add height. She accessorized with two simple gold bracelets and her graphic clutch reads “Stockholm, Berlin, London, Amsterdam.” This look is perfect for running errands, going to the saturday market or to the museum, where you don’t necessarily need to bring your purse with you. Here is a graphic clutch similar to this Fashionista’s, a simple leather clutch, a monogram clutch and a patterned clutch.

How To: This accessory is perfect for any occasion. You can throw on a pair of heels, a dress and a leather jacket and put your evening necessities in your clutch for a night out. These larger clutches are perfect for a night out because they are able to hold your smartphone, keys, cash, mints and lipstick with ease. Or you can wear a casual look like this Fashionista’s and ditch the large tote, bringing only what you need to the wander the town.
