ALL IN THE DETAILS: Snazzy Specs

Can you believe it’s already March? The weather here in Kent is changing every day. One day it is 70 degrees, and the next it is 40 degrees. I never know what to wear half of the time, so I end up wearing the same thing. I was thinking to myself: how could I change up my look? Then I saw this Fashionista and thought: glasses! I wear glasses every day and never think about how the style of them can change your entire look. Glasses are no longer for nerds; more and more Fashionistas and Fashionistos are branching out to different styles of glasses, making their look stand out from the crowd. Some are even wearing non-prescription glasses to add some flair to their look.

This Fashionista is wearing a fairly simple outfit: a burnt orange sweatshirt and black skinny jeans ripped at the knees paired with Adidas sneakers. The burnt orange gives the outfit a pop of color, but what really catches your eye is her glasses. The glasses have an aviator/grandpa vibe to them, giving the look an “old school” feel.  Her eye shadow also pulls in the color of her sweatshirt and draws more attention to her glasses. The Adidas sneakers also add to this retro feeling, pulling the outfit all together. You can often spot celebrities sporting this same look in their grandpa glasses. Kendall Jenner was once spotted wearing grandma glasses and a burnt orange turtleneck. The look had a similar vibe to this Fashionista’s. It is almost like Kendall stole her look!

Many of these retro-like glasses are often non-prescription, but I’m sure you could find some prescription glasses just like them. Go out and get yourself a pair of snazzy glasses. Whether they are like these grandpa ones or a pair that come in a cool color, try to accessorize with glasses! I know the next time I go to change my prescription, I might step out of the box a little more. Glasses can be the focal point of an outfi,t so have fun with your eyewear. Tag CollegeFashionista in your eyewear photos and show off those snazzy specs.
