ALL IN THE DETAILS: Make Fashion, Not War

The military’s favorite print is gaining more attention as a fashionable way to always be on-trend. However, unlike the U.S. Army, wearing camouflage is a sure way to get noticed on an everyday basis. Camouflage was first introduced to the U.S. Army during the 18th century, with soldiers wearing mostly forest greens and grey to blend in with trees. Since then camo has evolved to suit soldiers no matter what environment they were fighting in. Although it is generally more associated with menswear, camouflage is an exciting pattern for everyone, and when it is done right it gives off a chic feel. So, if you’re looking to stand out in a crowd, take note from this Fashionista.

The first thing that caught my eye was obviously her camouflage jacket. I personally like the darker colors within the print instead of bolder ones, but either would work with her outfit! The black and white striped dress has a stark contrast with the camouflage, making each print stand out that much more. Since the Fashionista paired her jacket with another print, adding some dimension, she made her look exciting and unique.

The Fashionsta kept everything else within her outfit simple to keep the main focus on the contrasting prints. Her trendy nude flats are a great alternative to wearing high heels or wedges, and keep the look more casual. Additionally, her small layered necklaces and black bag are the perfect final touches to complete her look.

How To: Camouflage is a great way to spice up your outfit and be bold like the soldiers who wear it everyday. However, if you’re not dressed in the uniform, wearing an all camouflage outfit is a bit overkill. Stick to adding a jacket or some small accessories with a muted design to make your outfit chic instead of tacky.
