ALL IN THE DETAILS: Look Cool With Converse

It’s safe to say that women everywhere rejoiced when sneakers took over the fall ’14 and spring ’15 runways. While heels will never fully disappear and boots still reign for fall and winter, there’s room in every wardrobe for at least one pair of casual sneakers. With the abundance of styles currently in stores it’s easy to find some that fit your style and personality. Whether you choose a funky, leopard print pair or classic, white Converse like the Fashionista I found this week, you can quickly create a trendy outfit.

Designers styled their sneakers used in shows in a variety of ways, but one reoccurring look was a pretty dress with sneakers. This is one of my favorite ways to style these shoes and is the reason this Fashionista caught my eye. I love the contrast between her feminine floral dress and her casual, classic Converse. This Fashionista went a step further in creating a creative and personalized look by drawing on her shoes to show her spirit for the upcoming Mardi Gras celebrations.

Although this student’s replicated runway look originally caught my eye, there was even more to admire in her outfit. I gushed over her colorful Dolce&Gabbana watch that is a great statement piece. I also loved her brown wayfarer sunglasses that give the look a bit of a retro feel when combined with her Converse. Her pale sweater thrown on top of the dress was a perfect layer for the sunny New Orleans day and kept the outfit casual and comfortable.

How To: I don’t see the sneaker trend going away anytime soon, so have fun with it. My favorite fashion blogger wears white sneakers with jeans and a fur coat, but they can be paired with any sundress, too. Once you’ve got your basic pair covered you can be adventurous. I just bought eye-catching metallic Keds, but I’ve seen florals, quilted leather and more.
