ALL IN THE DETAILS: Lady And The Tramp

The weather this week in Cincinnati has been extremely dreary, as it has stormed on and off every day. Furthermore, the humidity is unbearable and it’s uncomfortably muggy, which does no favors for my hair. I have talked about the weather before, but it is something that you really have to take into consideration here in Cincinnati. As I was taking a stroll through a park, trying to keep from getting wet, I was taken aback by this Fashionista’s rainy day gear.

This Fashionista was ready to take on the day with her versatile outfit where layers are the key to her success. I am really drawn to the juxtaposition within this outfit, as there is an amusing mixture of preppy elegance with a tomboy flare. I don’t know about you, but my eyes immediately zero in on the graphic aspect of this look. The black and white elements of this look are very bold and a statement on their own. The long, lightweight jacket she wears has a sharp and sophisticated print. The delicate print of the jacket next to the bold black and white striped umbrella is visually pleasing. I don’t remember the last time I used an umbrella, but this is definitely an incentive to go out and buy one. Her footwear is yet another striking feature as these saddle shoes are super cool. They are sophisticated yet edgy, they are sweet yet punk and they are bold yet unassuming. Underneath her otherwise ladylike exterior, we see a bit of a tomboy. This Fashionista wears a beat up denim jumper with a trendy cut-off and a plain white T-shirt. These two opposing looks come together in a harmonious way to create a beautiful balance.

How To: Do you have two elements that you love, but would usually never pair together? Well, now is the time to be bold and adventurous. Don’t misunderstand me when I say this as I don’t want to force anything on you. Take note from how this Fashionista supported her conflicting looks with the smaller details, and the umbrella may not have worked so well if it wasn’t for the jacket and killer studded shoes.
