ALL IN THE DETAILS: Keepin’ it Cute in the Cold

I don’t know about you, but often during the winter I find it hard to dress stylish and trendy because all I want to be wearing is sweatpants and fuzzy socks. However, I’ve come to the realization that I was putting too much focus on my outfit and less on the little things, like accessories. As long as you are accessorizing effectively, then it is totally fine to just stick to basics, such as a long sleeved, solid color shirt with jeans.

This Fashionista is a perfect example of keeping it simple while still having a stylish outfit that is perfect for the cold. She’s keeping it laid back in a classic cable knit sweater, blue jeans, and to top it off, a black & grey reversible overcoat. What really sticks out from her outfit is how she accessorized. Blanket scarves are all the rage right now, and I do not see that ending any time soon, as they are super trendy and so versatile. This Fashionista expertly shows off this trend in her plaid blanket scarf. Paired with her scarf is an adorable forest green beanie that is both warm and hip. These details are what really make this Fashionista’s outfit pop. This just goes to show that sometimes it is okay to not place so much effort on the clothing aspect of your outfit, but to focus more on smaller details, such as a hat or scarf.

How To: Want to look cute to class, but it’s just too cold to try? Accessories are the answer to your problem! No one will notice that you’re wearing yesterday’s jeans and your dad’s old button-down if you add the right details. Add a huge blanket scarf to keep your neck warm and a cute felt hat to block that frigid wind. It is so easy, and there is so much you can do with each of these pieces. Good luck and stay warm!
