ALL IN THE DETAILS: Investment Dressing

Coats are by obvious reasons a good and functional winter investment. However function is not always everything. The best winter investment? A coat that can stand alone as an outfit because what is the point of wearing a cute outfit if it is just going to be shielded by a not so attractive floor length puffer? Your style should speak for you and in the winter, your coat is the first thing people see. When I saw this Fashionista, the first thing I saw was investment dressing at its finest when I saw the gorgeous coat she was rocking.

Seeing that my own closet consists of a pool of blacks, whites and grays, it always catches my eye when I see someone spice up a monochromatic look. This snakeskin printed coat from Topshop perfectly complements and adds a little edge to this Fashionista’s plain gray turtleneck and black asymmetrical skirt. The focus of this outfit is on point thanks to this fabulous coat as it accentuates and contrasts the different shades in her ensemble. To bring in a pop of color she threw on a pair of purple suede Steve Madden booties with a thick wooden heel. To continue elongating her look this Fashionista grabbed her amazing black studded Gucci bag and finished off with some tortoise sun glasses.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “When you invest in those key wardrobe essentials, dressing up and expressing yourself especially in the cold winter months will make fashion all the more fun!”
