ALL IN THE DETAILS: Glam Under $30

With the spring semester started here at ‘Cuse, we are always expecting inches and inches of snow. Most students during this time of the year aren’t too concerned about how they look going to class; they are more focused on being comfortable. But, most importantly, they are dressing for the continuous changing of weather.

You see here at Syracuse the weather becomes so unpredictable (one day it can be at least 40 degrees with the sunny shining and blue skies, but the next day it can snow up to five inches, no sunshine just gray sky and clouds) that I am very sure that most students lose their interest on staying up to trend and dressing for class. I myself can sometimes be a little guilty of this; the weather can be uninspiring at times.

Though that is NOT the case with some of my fellow ‘Cuse students. There are a few that definitely don’t let the weather hinder their style. Meet this Fashionista (fellow fashion design major, with a minor in entrepreneurship and emerging enterprises)! She is definitely someone who does not let anything get in the way of her amazing looks, every time I see her she is in, what looks to be and what most would call, “her best.”

With this outfit this Fashionista has put together a look under $30 and looks amazing! Starting off with a sequined navy romper (Papaya for $7), black tights and thigh highs (second hand), just below the knee boots (Charlotte Russe $10), and finishing it off with two jackets from a thrift store (both totaling to $7). When asked what inspired this look she responded, “With being in school at Syracuse and the weather changes, I always try to incorporate what I have from the different seasons by layering it up. I wanted to wear the romper but not look too dressed up, I just had to make it work.” Well she definitely made it work, this Fashionista isn’t letting the winter weather stop her style!

She then finishes off with “I can never leave the house without a jacket! That’s one of my favorite accessories. But the most important accessory is the hair! That’s what makes or breaks your whole outfit.”
