ALL IN THE DETAILS: Get The Boot

As we all know, winter is not always the wonderland it promises to be. You know when it snows for the first time and it’s so pretty and fluffy and everyone’s happy? Yeah, that’s so not real. The second the snow stops falling and the salt trucks come out, it all turns to gross, gray, mushy snow. This harsh reality is what we’re dealing with for the next month or so Fashionistas, so better gear up!

From the snow to salt, there’s ultimately no chance that your shoes will stay clean from the time you leave in the morning to the time you return home from class. Because Northeast Fashionistas are stuck with the inclement weather situation, the winter shoe game can definitely be a struggle. This Fashionista, however, stepped up her game with this great look.

On a warmer day, a welcomed break from the historic NYC windchill, this Fashionista trekked through the sludge to the library. She was stylin’ in rain boots, leg warmers, leggings, a classic flannel, a winter jacket and a beanie to top it all off.

Her rain boots offered sturdy protection from the melting snow, allowing her to fearlessly walk across campus to study for midterm exams. With their unique matte color, they offer an extra bit of detail to her outfit and stand out against the sea of black rain boots on campus. Also, their buckles add an industrial touch which offers contrast to the coziness usually equated with winter days.

Adding a little more warmth to her look, this Fashionista paired her black leggings and flannel with knit leg warmers and a green beanie. The beanie looked great against her complexion and hair color, providing a pop of spring to her winter look.

How To: Don’t feel like ruining every pair of shoes you own? In many heights, colors and patterns, you’re bound to find the perfect pair of rain boots for your puddle-splashing dreams!
