ALL IN THE DETAILS: Fur Real, Fur Real

Around this time of year in Philadelphia, Fashionistas are only as good as their accessories—and I’m not talking about purses and statement necklaces. This cold weather requires that we wear accessories that can protect us on long walks for class, and we must conquer this dreaded time fashionably with hats, earmuffs and mittens. I met a Fashionista on a bitterly cold morning who inspired me with the perfect cold-weather gear, for real.

This Fashionista wore a thick sweater, skinny jeans and a pair of riding boots—a warm go-to outfit for busy days. On top of her clothing, she wore a navy blue parka with a fur-trim hood and a tan scarf. Parkas with an insulated lining and a hood are so necessary for this weather because they keep your body warm and look great with casual outfits.

The thing that really attracted me to this Fashionista was, without a doubt, her fur headband. I loved the way it complemented the colors in her outfit, making it an accessory that she can rock all day. A headband like this one would be a valuable addition to our wardrobes as college students for many reasons. One being that it’s the cutest way to keep our ears and head warm and another being that it’s an accessory that has been included in many different high fashion runway shows. Statement making fur accessories come all the way from the Fendi runways in Milan to the campus runway at PhilaU and beyond.

How To: Be prepared for the cold weather in fur like this Fashionista with a hooded parka and a faux fur headband!
