ALL IN THE DETAILS: Cut It Out

Spring is in full force at UF and I could not be happier. The weather is beautiful for Florida right now. It is the time before it gets sweltering hot and there is a perfect breeze. This made for a perfect day to walk around campus and scout out some amazing looks. Now let me tell you, I am not the only one who is taking advantage of the weather. So many students brought out perfect spring looks and today’s Fashionista is no exception.

What caught my eye about today’s Fashionista’s outfit were her outrageously chic shoes. I’m not surprised by this because if you know me, you know that my fashion weakness is shoes. I literally cannot go one day without spotting a pair of shoes that I have to have. Her tan leather lace-up cutout oxfords are the perfect shoes to start out the spring season and are so versatile to pair with many different looks and styles.

Today’s Fashionista styled her rad shoes with green tapered pants, a dark orange crochet top, a gold chain link necklace, a few bracelets and the perfect shade of coral lipstick. The whole outfit fit so well together and her shoes tied up the look. When I look at the oxfords I think they say, “I am a classic, flat shoe, but I have tons of sass.” The detail of the cutouts is why I loved this overall look so much, as they offered something different than normal oxfords we see every day.

You could pair these flats with high-waisted shorts, dresses, midi skirts, ankle jeans—all perfect options for spring. Adding a simple detail like cutouts in places you wouldn’t normally think to see them can instantly make an outfit more interesting.

How To: Grab a pair of cutout flats before they fly off the shelves for spring. Cutout flats can look great with so many different styles, from preppy to hipster, to bohemian and beyond. ASOS offers a pair that give a similar feel but offer a rounded toe and a slight ankle boot look.
