ALL IN THE DETAILS: But My Clothes Don’t Know ME!

If we were all honest, I think we’d agree that sometimes our own clothes just don’t do enough to show what bright and beautiful hearts we all have. Luckily, if you’re tired of wearing the same old summer T-shirt and shorts combination, you don’t have to stress!  Tattoos are another way of expressing yourself, and the opportunity to bare them in the summer always excites me a little. I love appreciating other people’s art, and I love showing off my own art. Another statement to be made is with pets, if you’re comfortable taking your pet in public. Dogs, parrots and even monkeys with hats (really whatever you’ve got) will add another level of interest to your look. With the addition of your pet, you become a performance piece, not only showing off how pretty your pet is, but how smart.

In the case of this Fashionisto, he often chooses to let his parrot, Carti, accompany him for quick trips to the store and other small errands. In order to highlight the bright colors of the parrot, which the Fashionisto admitted he would never wear all together, he opts for a soft blue T-shirt and cut-off jeans. The Fashionisto says it’s both his and Carti’s favorite shirt because it is soft and easy to grab with his talons. Not only does this provide the perfect parrot pairing, but it also shows off the Fashionisto’s traditional Japanese tattoo sleeve, which he’s had for two years. He rounds out his look with cutoffs and flip flop sandals to convey a low maintenance style suitable for hazy and humid summer days. Cut-offs are a practical way to recycle jeans that have gotten too short or that have holes or stains and often contribute to an aura of self sufficiency and practicality.

How To: Consider things other than clothing and jewelry to express yourself. Your expression should never be limited to what’s popular or expected of you.
