ALL IN THE DETAILS: Ain't No Mediocre Choker

Isn’t it true that fashion recycles itself? Brown lipstick, overalls, matching sets and shirt’s tied around the waist are all throwback trends that have come back in style. Growing up in the ’90s and early 2000s, I have seen my fair share of trends come and go. But never did I think I would see the day that the tattoo choker, the quintessential cool girl necklace of my early years, would make a return in popular fashion. Yet, that day is here and much to my great pleasure, chokers are going stronger than ever.

This Fashionista amped up her fashion game by styling a tattoo choker with a longer necklace, an Iron Maiden T-shirt, cut-offs and white, high-top sneakers. She also carried a black leather tote bag and had wrapped a large hoodie around her waist to complete her look. When it comes to fashion that is both sensible and trendy, this Fashionista’s edgy outfit hit all of the marks. I don’t think there is anything more comfortable to wear to class than a T-shirt and denim shorts! Not completely sacrificing style for comfort, her look makes a solid compromise. Strong accessories, like a choker necklace, are great statement pieces that can add depth to any outfit. By incorporating a choker into her look, this Fahionista was able to take an otherwise simple outfit from plain to dynamic.

How To: Is your personal style a little too “girly” to pull off the ’90s tattoo choker necklace? Take a more feminine spin on the trend and try wearing an elegant vintage style choker instead.
