STYLE GURU STYLE: Haute Hippie Vibes

This season, 70s vibes have returned to the runway once again. Valentino kicked off his spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection with elegant, flowing fabrics, posh prints and cool earth tones. Inspired by two major designers, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli created a collection that has been defined as, “poetic, graceful and beautiful.” The hippie vibes overflowed with printed fabrics, gladiator sandals and jaw-dropping details in every look. What I loved most about Valentino’s collection was that it was so beautifully recreated and interpreted on the runway.

There are so many ways to channel your inner hippie this summer. When encorporating this runway trend into my own look, I opted for printed palazzo pants in black to match the neutral tones found throughout the spring line. The detail along the hem of the pants is what gives them that similar feel to the intricate designs from Valentino’s collection. To accentuate the high-waisted line of my palazzo pants, I paired them with a black lace back crop top. I also wore my braided leather gladiator sandals in an attempt to create a similar look from the collection. For a little extra flair, I accessorized with all-gold jewelry, a solid gold cuff, midi rings and a crescent moon necklace to tie the look together. Ultimately, what I wanted to replicate most from the designers jaw-dropping line was a look that was laid back, flowing and still looked effortlessly chic.

Get My Look: 1. A black lace crop top. 2. Printed palazzo pants. 3. Gladiator sandals.
