WHAT TO WEAR: Fall

Out here in the Midwest it has been an unusually warm autumn. In years’ pasts, Fashionistas have been spotted wearing thick coats in all kinds of patterns. This fall, Fashionistas are still able to make their morning commutes across campus without bulky coats or thick sweaters. This season the main trends are velvet garments, cut-outs in garments like skirts, dresses and sweaters. Fall is the season of diverse fashion, with runway shows fresh in the minds of Fashionistas across the nation. Take the Fashionista above, she understands that during the season of trends, the little black dress is always in style.

I spotted this Fashionista on her way to the local coffee shop, just on the outskirts of campus. She wore her favorite little black dress with a delicate and intricate cutout design around the lower bodice of the dress. The gathering at the waistline creates a shape that emphasizes the fun and flirty characteristics of the dress. Pairing a black heel with your LBD is a go-to when your day is full of meetings, classes and internships. An appropriate height is essential when choosing what shoes to wear. The open-toed shoe is perfect for all-day activities and gives a casual vibe. She chose to wear simple silver jewelry with her all-black outfit to add a casual, yet classic look.

In a time where the trend is numerous trends, leaning toward a classic look is essential. The LBD is a staple piece in any Fashionista’s closet. Adding modern and unique design elements is what will make the look stand out.
