STYLE GURU BIO: Erica Lyons

If you were reading my content last semester, you will have known that I was studying abroad in London, England, and throughout that time, was documenting the street style I came across. But alas, sadly that time has come to a close, and I have returned to the Heartland of the United States to see the homegrown style of the Midwest, more specifically at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where I study news-editorial journalism.

Being abroad has shown me new ways to approach styling myself that I am excited to share with all of you. Specifically, I’ve really come to appreciate the use of accessories in creating a look, and I am looking forward to the opportunity to explore this in the upcoming summer months. I also have a new perspective of how to make a look more versatile with utilizing trends in makeup. I have always claimed myself to be a makeup aficionado, and even a lipstick fanatic, so I am planning to feature looks this semester that center around not just great clothes and accessories, but great makeup, too.

Summer style can often fall to the wayside to comfort, especially in the Illinois humidity, but I am excited to report what creative, summer style will be had by those around me—along with my own self.

I am so looking forward to this second semester of this internship, and I am ever grateful for your readership. I can’t wait to see the style that is in store.
