STYLE GURU STYLE: Floral Flair

The sun’s out and summer is finally here! Many designers this year are taking inspiration from mother nature, including her natural, earthy tones and blossoming flowers and incorporating them into their own runway collections.

The inspiration for this look came from the Dior resort 2017 collection. Christian Dior’s collection incorporates all of nature’s neutral and earthy tones while sticking to his brand and the royal theme that he has created. His collection this year features many different pieces that are seen to be as “pushing boundaries” because of mixing different prints but in my opinion, it worked! The use of mixing and matching prints created a noteworthy look that can be carried over into any season and can be recreated to fit any look.

My goal was to achieve an effortless and trendy look that included a floral pattern and the neutral tones from Dior’s collection. I decided to incorporate the floral print in a long-sleeve modern floral romper, instead of a classic dress. The romper I am wearing consists of loose sleeves accompanied by a deep V-neck wrap around top that leads to a synched waist and also has a lace back and side detailing. I chose to wear a lace, white bralette to add more detail to the front of the romper and paired the outfit with lace up, peep toe heels.

The lace back makes the look more interesting and adds detail, as well as comfort! A romper of this kind can easily be dressed down with one of your most comfortable flats or Converse.
