STYLE GURU STYLE: That's a Wrap

As the weather gets colder, the desire to wear comfy and warm clothes is on everyone’s minds. The other day I seriously contemplated wearing my bedspread to the diner, but using reasoning, I talked myself out of it. Enter: the blanket scarf. I love items that have a fluffier side to them, and this accessory allows me to wear my bed out of the house in a socially acceptable way.

The Apiece Apart 2015 fall ready-to-wear collection showcases outerwear. Statement coats, sweaters and most importantly, blanket scarves, are the glue that holds the collection together.

I was inspired to play with the blanket scarf in order to find a way to bring runway fashion to a college campus and make it accessible to the everyday person. Outerwear can be a challenge when your main priority is staying warm and having functionality, but accessories are a great way to make a statement with a bold new trend for a low cost.

In addition to the blanket scarf, I wore a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans, a sheer white pin tuck shirt and a pair of oxfords. To top of my look I added a bright red lip and a cool knit hat to get away from my tradition beanie.

Apiece Apart’s fall 2015 collection is perfect for the imminent holiday season. Blanket scarves and fun outerwear are perfect for all your winter fashion needs. This look can easily go from fall to winter, and even early spring with a lighter version of the scarf.
