5 Ways To Remind Your Friends That You Love Them

Friends are like flower petals; some of them stay and some of them don’t. Which is even more reason to realize that creating and keeping your ultimate #GuruGang isn’t the easiest thing (even if Taylor Swift makes it seem like it is).

Friendships are hard work and require effort, dedication, and time. It is sometimes easy though to forget that just like a romantic relationship, a platonic one needs love, too. It might be that we become comfortable with our friends and feel no obligation to try. Which, on one hand, is great and be yourself with no expectations. However, I think it’s equally important to remind those you love that you love them because it shows that you appreciate and care for them.

Everyone wants to be loved and feel loved. If your friends are those who have been through everything with you; whether it was being your date to a party, hugging you when you’re feeling sad, offering a piece of advice, and being honest with you when needed, then it is important to let them know you are also there for them.

So for those in your #GuruGang who you can’t live without and spend the majority of your time with because they are just goals, here are five ways to to remind them that you love them!

1. Give them a call. There doesn’t have to be a big purpose for picking up the phone and hearing their voice. Simply ask how their day went. This shows that you are genuinely interested in listening about their day and that it’s about them and not you. (Photo via @samhannes)

2. Ask them out for brunch. Everyone loves food. And eating said food with someone you care about makes the experience even more amazing. This is the perfect chance to bond and chat about anything, even if it’s just about how Ryan Reynolds and Andrew Garfield made out at the Golden Globes (amazing) or if you’re planning for world domination together (also, amazing). Either way it’s bound to be lovely and delicious. (Photo via @jaidabrinkley_)

3. Send them a random “I love you” text. Newsflash, these are not only reserved for your girlfriends or boyfriends. “I love you” is universal and can belong to anyone you choose to share your love with. These random texts of affection will make your friends feel all nice and bubbly inside, and I can assure you that it will make them smile (insert laughing/crying emoji here). (Photo via @brisaamarr)

4. Communicate. Communication is key to any relationship. Both sides want to know that how they feel, what they have to say and what they can offer is going to be heard, respected, and considered important. The simple task of paying attention and communicating with each other can go a long way, and will definitely let your friends know you have time for them. (Photo via @sarahgargano29)

5. Buy them a small gift. This doesn’t necessary mean splurge on them. Lord knows we are on a college budget which pretty much means always being broke (can someone send help?). But sometimes gifting your friend a small gift for no specific reason is the sweetest thing you can ever do. Why wait for a specific holiday to do it? Just do it now girl! Their tears of joy will bring you joy. Yay for happiness! (Photo via @anagabrielateran)

So tell me, how are you going to remind your #GuruGang that you love them today?
