WHAT TO WEAR: Weekend Wear

Spotted on a Monday afternoon in the local Starbucks that I frequent, this Fashionisto’s oxfords were what caught my eye. Paired with dark khaki colored chinos and a light pullover, add in the perfect accessories, and there you have it, the perfect weekend outfit. Unfortunately, Monday is about as far as it gets from the weekend.

Anyways, as the recent film Kingsman: The Secret Service said, “Oxfords, not brogues.” This phrase definitely translates into weekend wear. A pair of oxfords are great for both day and night; good for both casual and dress wear. This Fashionisto chose a pair of oxfords with wingtips from H&M, the same store his pants came from. A good pair of chinos are great for casual wear. Not only are they durable, they work for every look from laid back to proper. The pullover that this Fashionisto wears is great for the weekend as well; It’s comfortable and versatile.

However, my favorite part of his outfit were his accessories, they were definitely on point. He was carrying a Hershel backpack and wearing a Brixton snapback and Polo glasses. Hershel backpacks have been taking college campuses by storm and are definitely a trend that this Fashionisto was following. Brixton snapbacks, exactly like the one pictured have been becoming more and more popular for some time now too. Their clothing is oftentimes created for festival wear or casual day wear, just as this Fashionisto has done. His glasses from Polo by Ralph Lauren are also on trend. Their large rectangular frames bode themselves well to the rest of this stylish outfit; an outfit that works well for a rainy Monday afternoon, or of course the weekend.

One Simple Change: To take this look from coffee shop to cocktail party I would suggest switching out the pullover for a nice blazer. Take a leap of faith and maybe even go for the new trend, a patterned jacket.
