WHAT TO WEAR: Traveling

June 10th, 2016 at 2:06am

In a nutshell, college is having four tests, two essays and a group project all due in the same week. To go along with that, you’re broke and you haven’t had a real meal since the last time you visited home. It’s all stress and several different emotions running through a student’s head at once, and saying it is overwhelming would be an understatement. Thankfully, summer break has arrived, which calls for that huge weight to be lifted off of your shoulders. Making it through any year of college is an accomplishment, and what better way is there to celebrate than to travel? A vacation is well needed once a break from school comes around, and I know the perfect gal who has her “travel style” in the bag.

The first thing that anyone should put into consideration when choosing an outfit to travel in is comfortability. This Fashionista opted for a breezy, patterned button-down with a pair of vintage high-waisted jeans, which were both purchased at a thrift store. The good thing about vintage high-waisted jeans is that they are meant to be loose-fitting, so that makes them perfect to travel in. Not only do they pass the comfortability test, but they also do a great job at flattering your figure. Don’t tell me I’m the only one who noticed how good the tush looks in high-waisted garments?! To finish off her outfit, my girl chose to wear a pair of metallic, slip-on sandals and a neutral hat. Sandals are definitely the best kinds of shoes to wear when traveling because they are as easy to take off as they are to put on. For anyone else who drives with their shoes off and one leg propped in the seat, you know where I am coming from. As far as the fabulous hat goes, it isn’t necessary for traveling, but I will say it was a necessary addition to her outfit of the day.

One Simple Change: Shoes, in my opinion, make the outfit. Depending on what type of shoe you wear, it determines how formal or chill the outfit is. With this Fashionista’s outfit, she can easily change into a pair of hot pink pumps to complement her button-down to have a “date night” ready outfit.
