As college students, we are forced to take part in presentations in our classes. For those of us that are not big fans of public presentations, this is probably the worst possible assignment we could ever be asked to do. However, with an outfit like this Fashionista’s, you are sure to have the confidence to get up in front of the class and stun them all with your A+ of a presentation!
The first aspect of the outfit that struck me was the delicate off-white dress. The fabric was interesting in color due to its ivory tone. The ivory tone really complemented the darkness of the rest of the ensemble. Wearing a dress that was pure white would have thrown off the entire outfit’s fluidity. The dress has a vintage feel to it and stands out due to the embroidery on the top of the bust and the fringe decoration down at the bottom. A dress is always the way to go when you have a presentation. Dresses automatically make an outfit seem more professional. They have a comfortable and easy-going vibe about them. You will feel comfortable and confident in a dress and thus your nerves will not get the best of you.
The next part of this outfit that really brings everything together is the black tights. Black tights streamline a silhouette and make a girl’s legs look as if they go on for miles. The color black is automatically sophisticated and adds that extra professional aspect to the outfit. Not to mention the fact that sheer tights are just plain old boring for any Fashionista!
Along with the black tights, this Fashionista has paired her black booties. This pairing is absolutely stunning. I love how the black tights blend right into her black booties as if the tights never ended. When giving a presentation always be sure to wear some sort of heel, whether it be a boot or a pump. Heels exemplify power and improve posture. Wearing heels automatically makes you suck in your tummy and pull back those shoulders so that you are standing straighter than ever before — studies have proven it.
However, when wearing heels, be sure to wear ones that you can walk in. No one wants to watch a girl who cannot even walk up to the front of the class without tripping give a presentation. There is a very fine line between professional heels and party heels. Be sure not to cross it.
Always wear a sweater or light cardigan over dresses and shirts when giving presentations. Spaghetti straps are simply not acceptable for professional wear and most of the time, depending on who you are presenting to, your shoulders will need to be covered. A long and light sweater is the way to go. It is versatile, easy to throw on and off and very cheap.
One Simple Change: Switch the sweater for a leather jacket and this Fashionista is ready for a casual date night.
