WHAT TO WEAR: Interviews

June 29th, 2015 at 2:00am

Our summer weather can’t seem to make up its mind, giving everyone a hard time when getting dressed. The sun is low in the morning, but come noon there is a heat wave only the south can give.

I found this Fashionisto in downtown on a very hot day. He was picking up snow cones and just so happened to be coming from an interview. His outfit intrigued me, but I was surprised to hear he interviewed at Nordstrom.

This Fashionisto chose a modern business casual look. He paired an oversized blazer with an oversized, raw edged white T-shirt. This is where he gives the causal vibe to his overall look. Accessorizing with a black fedora, we see a bit of his personality through a few bracelets and ring.

He favored straight, cropped trousers in black. Since he went very casual in terms of the type of shirt he wore, I do think the pants kept the look a bit more professional. The cropped pants also helps balance out his proportions, considering he went oversized on top. A pair of black derby shoes completely the look, providing in a professional look.

Due to the environment of his potential work place, this look is perfect for an interview. He stayed true to himself by accessorizing with a few favorite pieces, and also kept to the style of the job by adding a nice blazer and trousers.

One Simple Change: Didn’t get the job, but landed an amazing internship? Follow in this Fashionisto’s footsteps and wear a blazer with cropped trousers. For a more professional environment, wear everything in your proper size and add an oxford shirt. Trying colors such as navy and gray, gives reason to add a pop of color. And remember, matching the belt and shoes together gets anyone brownie points!
