WHAT TO WEAR: Graduation

Everything I have ever thought of as the future has suddenly become the present, starting with graduation. It is a day that has been in the back of my mind ever since I started high school and now that it is right before my eyes, I’m not sure what to make of it. It is kind of like you have been on the Hermès Birkin waitlist for the past four years when one day you get a call that it will be delivered to your doorstep in less than a week. The wait was long, at times you wanted give up and not to mention all the sleep you lost worrying whether it would still be in style by the time it arrived. Finally, the day has come and although excited and beyond ready, there is sense of uneasiness and fear of the unknown—all too similar to my feelings towards graduation. As a true Fashionista, I’ve turned to retail therapy and street style inspiriation to cope with these feelings. This Fashionista absolutely nails her graduation look and serves as some much needed muse.

White is a color that symbolizes peace, positivity and prosperity—all things we strive for every day and look forward to in our futures. There is no better way to bring good vibes to this special day than sporting a color that represents so much. Today’s Fashionista dons just the right outfit for this occasion. This white shift dress is simple and speaks for itself. I love that it is classy yet still edgy with it’s bodycon fit .Her wedges seem beyond comfortable, which is a bonus because as all Fashionistas would argue that beauty is pain. The look is finished off with a black leather clutch and minimal, yet bold jewelry for a glam touch. This look confirms that sometimes less really is more.

One Simple Change: After ditching the cap and gown, this look could be worn to anything from a Greek life event to an internship when paired with a leather blazer.
