WHAT TO WEAR: Day to Night

Summer is finally here and by now most college kids are finally starting to relax and realize that they no longer need three energy drinks a day to stay awake as there is finally time to sleep. Many of us are ready to go out with our friends and celebrate passing that one class that made us wonder if college is really worth it, while many of us just want to forget about it entirely. Either way, class is out for a few months and it’s time to have fun and put some thought back into what we’re wearing.

I caught this Fashionista at the mall with what appeared to be two of her friends and I simply could not ignore her style. Her sequined top is perfect for going out during the day or at night. However, it was not until I started taking photos that I truly realized just how well her outfit matched.

The blue and gold tones on both her bag and her sandals correlate perfectly with the sequins on her top. The solid colors and simple designs of her bag and sandals only highlight her overall look and prevent it from being over-the-top.

The off-white color of her kimono counteracts the darker blue shade of her top and its delicate fabric serves as a subtle oxymoron in comparison to the thick and heavy metals on her bag.

One Simple Change: If you’re the kind of girl that rather go out and celebrate at night, whether it be dancing or a late movie, this look is easily adaptable. Changing her kimono to one of a darker color, perhaps black, will bring out the darker hues making it more applicable to the night. If you’re up for wearing tall shoes, wedges are perfect for night-life and are just as easily interchangeable with the sandals. No matter what you choose, with either of these options you’re ready for a stylish night.
