WHAT TO WEAR: Class

I spotted this student on the outskirts of Ohio State University’s campus earlier this week. At first glance, it looked like he woke up and realized that he was late so he threw on sweats and the first shirt he found on the floor. However, as I got closer I realized that this student definitely put some thought into what he put on that morning.

He had a fairly conservative color scheme throughout his outfit, but if you look closely you can see he chose a few ways to really make the outfit unique. The red stripe lining on the inside of the shirt and the cardigan that went underneath the blue oxford made it much more than just a pair of sweatpants and an old shirt.

This particular student is a prime example that if you choose to wear sweatpants to class for the day, it doesn’t have to fit the negative connotation of “bumming it” that often goes along with a similar outfit. If you decide to wear sweatpants to class, do something unique with them to make the outfit standout from the herds of other people who had the same idea.

When I’m shopping for a pair of sweatpants I usually like to find a pair with good quality material that have a tapered fit. Having a pair of sweatpants that fit well in some way offset the idea that comes along when wearing sweatpants. An outfit with sweatpants can be whatever you decide to make it; it all depends on what you pair them with. Try putting them with a nicer shirt and your favorite jacket. Check out a few of the links I posted throughout this paragraph to get yourself started.

One Simple Change: Put a pair of jeans with the outfit above to change it from a perfect daytime outfit, to a one to go out for the night.
