WHAT TO WEAR: Brunch

Way too many times I’ve heard people groan, “It’s weird to wear something on top and bottom that match completely. It will all blend and won’t complement me.” FALSE. I relieve a sigh, internally of course, and wish that they could see someone rocking the top and bottom matching combo because when done right and accessorized stylishly it rocks.

This look I would love to see at a brunch. It’s definitely elevated from casual, but trendy and sophisticated enough that it could turn heads with whoever you’re eating eggs benedict and mimosas with. First I love the color; tons of people stray away from orange, but if you stick to a more mature shade, it can make your skin tone tanner and provide a standout outfit (because face it, how many people are rocking a sunset orange?). Then, it’s the details on the combo; The buttons down the hips of the pant and the top provide a streamlined detail that give a simple tank and pant more life. And lastly, the accessories play such an important role in an outfit like this. Since the ensemble itself is head to toe, you need to be conservative and let the accessories boost, not overpower. By picking a hat, purse, and boots that are black, there’s cohesiveness here and it completes the look rather than drawing your eyes.

One Simple Change: Ditch the boots for some strappy black stilettos and you’re ready for a girl’s night out. The atypical combo look, eye-catching orange color and flirty buttons provide something new that you wouldn’t usually see downtown. From brunch to a club, you’ve got it covered.
