WHAT TO WEAR: Brunch

When the weather in NYC continues to rise up into the 80s, it becomes increasingly difficult to put together an outfit that manages to look stylish and still does not cause a heat stroke. This isn’t California, so denim Daisy Dukes don’t fly here, and neither do Coachella-style crop tops.

With the extra time that comes along with the summer, Manhattanites love waking up slightly later and going out to brunch on weekend (then again, who doesn’t?). When you are going out for brunch with your girlfriends, you want something easy and sophisticated that can work for uptown or downtown.

This Fashionista found a way to beat the heat while looking super chic. As a self-proclaimed Jenna Lyons fanatic, she chose a classic striped J.Crew top and rolled up the sleeves to stay cool. At 6’3”, she has difficulty finding jeans that are long enough for her lengthy legs. These average length jeans (31” inseam) look cropped on her, and she cuffed them to emphasize their cropped appearance. She got the idea to wear cropped flares from Manrepeller.com, which she frequents. The slide sandals with thick straps stay on her feet while being super comfortable. A silver watch is functional while also adding a little touch of bling.

This Fashionista knows that in the summer heat, minimal makeup is best. Tousled, undone hair is chic and effortless. Her choice of MAC lipstick in Russian Red pairs perfectly with her fair skin. It stands out without being too much, and an otherwise bare face makes her red lip look unforced.

One Simple Change: This Fashionista could take this perfect brunch outfit to running errands with the addition of a cute shopper. She isn’t too dressed up or dressed down to go to a farmer’s market and pick out some locally harvested fruits and veggies.
