WHAT TO WEAR: Beat The Heat

On a sweltering day in September that feels more apt for sometime in August, students at Monmouth University were out in droves to attend class and beat the heat. One of the best ways to beat said heat is to wear white. Yes, even after Labor Day.

This Fashionista is cooling things down in a white T-shirt and denim shorts. Living so close to the shore, this look is a perfect way to transition from class to the boardwalk. Most people around here are wearing flip flops but our Fashionista prefers pristine white chucks.

When asked about the shoes and how she keeps them so clean, “I don’t know? I guess I just have really good luck with my footing and I keep these babies off the sand.”

She keeps her look simple with her hair down and straight with a middle part that she prefers because it is low maintenance, which is her style motto, “Keep it simple, keep it classy.”

Her glasses, black frame, are not the hipster style that many are sporting but are glasses needed to see. They frame her face which she keeps natural with a slight berry tint that comes from a tinted lip-balm, which is such a refreshing way to keep color on your face while keeping your lips moisturized.

The splash of color on our Fashionista comes from her backpack. A pink hued, floral Vera Bradley is a breath of fresh air and really fits the vibe that comes from our Fashionista. The backpack has two pockets on the side which are home to her umbrella in case of any sudden rain showers and a water bottle to stay hydrated.

To transition this outfit for cooler weather, our Fashionista likes to pair this outfit with a cardigan, leggings and riding boots.
