STYLE GURU STYLE: Who Needs Two Pieces When You Can Have One

If one would take a nice look through my closet, they would notice a lot of basics. Basic colored shirts, basic colored jackets and basic colored pants. I do not branch out with strong patterns or outrageous looks, but rather, I stick to the simple things. One staple that I absolutely adore are jumpsuits. Jumpsuits are unique, but extremely simple, giving you both your shirt and pants in one piece.

For this look, I took inspiration from Ralph Lauren’s spring 2015 runway show. The models rocked numerous beautiful jumpsuits down the runway with confidence. These jumpsuits are perfect for any occasion and are extremely easy to wear. Although the jumpsuit that I am wearing is not nearly as fancy as Ralph Lauren’s, it represents my love for the basics. Ralph Lauren stuck with the basic color palette of beige and black, which I love. It shows that one does not need to be dressed in luminous colors to stand out. Jumpsuits are a great piece that you can dress up or dress down.

My jumpsuit was a bit more casual than Ralph Lauren’s pieces, but it is perfect for a day of classes, meetings and hanging out with friends. I fell in love with this casual jogger jumpsuit from the minute I saw it on the hanger. It gives a great balance of cute and athletic. I also love how comfortable and slouchy this jumpsuit is. For class, I chose to pair this jumpsuit with a pair of white Converse sneakers to accentuate that athletic vibe. On top, I added a jean vest and a big white scarf. This makes the look more class appropriate, as well as adding a nice fall touch. I finished off the look with simple jewelry.

This time of year is my absolute favorite. I love the fashion during the fall. The weather is still a little bipolar, where it is cold in the morning and hot in the afternoon. I love this outfit for this type of weather because I have a short sleeve top for the warm weather, and a capri bottom for the cooler weather. This combination of girly and athletic is a perfect look for school, as well as a great way to incorporate a classic runway style.
