One of my favorite parts of this time of year is shopping for beautiful flowers. I absolutely love all the bright colors and different combinations. Now that floral prints are so popular, I constantly find myself drawn to them. Everyone wears floral printed items, so I want to stand out. When I saw the Stella McCartney resort 2016 fashion show, I fell in love with the bright colored florals paired with black and white. I was so inspired, I tried my own take on this look.
I started my outfit with a great pair of floral shorts. The bright colored tropical flowers scream summer and really stand out against the dark black denim. They are super comfortable, which makes them great for any summer activity. I like high-waisted shorts because you can wear a crop top or normal shirt with them. I wanted to keep the focus on the florals, so I chose I white muscle tank. I’ve received so many compliments and laughs on the saying which is so much more fun than a plain white shirt! The Stella McCartney show featured fairly dressy outfits, but that just isn’t always practical for summer. I wanted something that was stylish and comfortable. Something I could move around, but still feel runway ready. I absolutely love what I came up with.
I don’t always wear a ton of accessories during the summer. I can usually be seen wearing some sort of shell, floral or nautical necklace and earrings, just like I am here. Sunglasses are my go-to during the summer months. I have so many different pairs in bright colors. I chose a white pair of Sperry Top-Siders for this outfit because they matched and made me feel ready for the beach. Last but certainly not least, I had my beachy Juicy Couture tote on my shoulder. The colors and palm trees make this the perfect beach bag.
Who says flowers are only for the garden? You can have so much fun with floral prints this summer. Whether you find a great dress, shorts or necklace, add floral into your wardrobe and you’ll be set for the season.
