STYLE GURU STYLE: Oversized Outerwear

I have never been a fan of cold weather, but I have been getting more comfortable with dressing for it thanks to inspiring fall/winter runway shows. The most pre-fall 2015 collection from The Row consisted of outerwear pieces that can enhance any look in the winter, especially their boyfriend-style coats. I received a boyfriend coat over the holidays and I couldn’t be more excited to rock it on campus this semester.

I fell in love with the way this coat fit me because it is my first winter coat that had a boxier cut. Lately, I have been more drawn to looser fitting menswear-inspired clothing, so I felt that this coat was a perfect addition to my collection. The hunter green color mixes well with the mood of a snowy day and complements my favorite multicolored wet-weather boots from Marc by Marc Jacobs.

Snowy days usually make me want to be super chill with my style, but I’m not a fan of wearing sweatpants very often. On this day, I paired some skinny Levi Brand Jeans with an oversized button-down blouse. This is a laid back, basic outfit that can either be dressed up with heels or worn with boots for an everyday look.

I loved the way this boyfriend coat looked with my oversized blouse so much that I was satisfied with wearing a rather minimalistic ensemble. For the short classes during syllabus week as we head back on campus, an effortless outfit similar to this will have us Fashionistas comfortable yet presentable for the occasion.

Get My Look: 1. A hunter green boyfriend coat. 2. An oversized blouse. 3. A pair of unique wet weather boots.
