Fall is the best season for one reason and one reason only—layers! It’s that time of year when we can finally layer our clothes comfortably. During the spring and summer, it’s often too hot to layer, and during the winter it’s often too cold to layer fashionably. I’m originally from South Florida where seasons don’t really exist—it’s mostly hot all year around. Moving to New York has been so exciting because I can finally experience the seasons and dress accordingly!
For this look, I finally bought into the lace-up sweater trend. I will admit that I’m late to this trend, so I made sure to put my own twist on it. Like I said before, I love layering pieces, so naturally, I wanted to layer it on top of a shirt. I chose to layer it on top of a collared button-down shirt for a more preppy look. I absolutely love button-up shirts and basically any shirt with a collar on it. You can find me in a collared shirt pretty often, but very rarely will you see me wearing one without some sort of necklace on as well. I love tucking a necklace under the collar so it peeks out just a little bit. It’s such a small detail but it always adds so much to the outfit. I also scrunched the sweater up around my waist so that my white shirt peeked out at the bottom. This helped break up the dark color of my sweater against my black shorts. I also have my faux leather jacket to add another layer to this look. I love this jacket because it has cheetah print on the inside which looks really cool when it peeks out! Another one of my favorite fall fashion looks is sheer tights with shorts! I paired my black tuxedo shorts over my sheer tights and wore maroon heeled boots to add some more color! I completed this outfit by accessorizing with a bunch of rings and my favorite metallic sunglasses.
