In this day and age, college students are on the run all the time. For me, a typical day starts with a 7 a.m. workout then I go straight to my summer class and then it’s off to work or pageant rehearsals. Of course, I cannot forget writing for CollegeFashionista in between all of that craziness.
Saloni wanted to create looks for women who are on the run all the time by creating a collection that coincides with a day look and also an evening look. It’s the perfect collection for college students to take a few hints from. The key to any collection is print and Saloni did not disappoint in that respect. The collection featured rattlesnake, python, boas and mamba prints that transition well from day to night. They also had clothing pieces in a beautiful eggplant color and polka-dots.
I decided to try the day to night look for myself. I did this by incorporating a nice dose of polka-dots while wearing my favorite color combination—black and white. It was a really fun look to create.
I am a little on the fence about wearing high-waisted shorts. I decided that I should experiment a bit for this post and see how I felt in a pair. I think that high-waisted shorts can amp up your look. This is especially true with black high-waisted shorts. I also added a printed polka-dot shirt. I think wearing black and white makes it is easy to go from day to night. The color combination is so classic and makes transitioning simple. In the Saloni collection, there were many different snake prints which work well for both day and night. These prints work fabulously in the office as a nice blouse tucked into a high-waisted skirt. If you’re as busy as I am, make sure to copy the Saloni collection for on the go looks for girls with hectic schedules.
