STYLE GURU STYLE: Boho-Chic

This month I was inspired by colors and patterns. Although none of us really want to admit it, summer will soon be coming to a close and the rich hues and textures of the fall season will soon be upon us. I live in Florida and the fall weather is an absolute nightmare to work with here in terms of fashion. I thought my look for this week could feature the patterns and overall feel we see on the fall fashion runways paired with lighter, simpler styles necessary for surviving the heat my state so graciously supplies during the season.

Ultimately the collection that inspired this look is Prada’s fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection. The collection features a wide variety of heavy draping, layers of various textures and dark tones paired with intricate patterns. The looks all seem to want to draw all attention to the clothes so makeup on the models is very minimal and the hair is pulled away from the face for the most part.

The main piece in this look is, of course, the jumpsuit. I would like to take a minute to praise whoever came up with the idea of jumpsuits as well as whoever decided that they should be trendy again because they are a fashion staple. Just this one statement piece in a fun color or pattern is all you Fashionistas need to put together a memorable outfit, but I digress. The multi-colored garment features dark, rich shades in a paisley print that has a touch of a bohemian feel, as well as a loose, flared fit similar to many of the looks in Prada’s collection. I paired the jumpsuit with chunky brown heels in the same heavy style as well as bronze statement earrings and rings.

This sort of look is perfect for a night on the town with the girls. Pair it with a jewel-colored clutch, throw your hair into a loose updo and you have yourself the perfect outfit for a cool fall night downtown.

Get My Look: 1. Some chunky heels. 2. A statement jumpsuit. 3. A pair of long earrings.
