STYLE GURU STYLE: Back to Black

The Carla Zampatti Australia spring 2015 collection is simple and stunning. It has a lot of black and whites that were very ladylike, yet it also had a few pops of color that gave a hint of the ‘80s. It reminds me a little of Miranda Kerr, soft and elegant but also glamorous. The makeup was light and easy-going and hair was loose but not too stylized. The overall look of the collection was graceful but bold.

I wore a fitted black long sleeve top tucked into a pair of black skinny jeans to make my figure seem more feminine. Thinking of the Carla Zampatti Australia spring 2015 collection, I wore teal pumps to add a pop of color. To accessorize I wore a white and gold Fossil watch, which was not distracting or in competition with my teal pumps. My hair was blown out and a little messy while my makeup stayed light.

Adding a pop of color to an outfit can be easy and very effective when done right. Keep in mind that you never want to have too many contrasting colors. Having one will make your outfit stand out but having too many will make you a distraction. Stick to neutrals as the base of your outfit and then have one statement piece that pops out. It could easily be a necklace, shoes, a bracelet or small details on an article of clothing such as red stripes on a shirt. Always remember to keep it simple, and don’t over do it.
