STYLE GURU BIO: Siena Pullinzi

Good morning my lovely reader! I only say that because I imagine whoever is reading this is doing so with a freshly brewed cup of coffee, harmonizing with a perfectly toasted bagel smothered in cream cheese or maybe some toast with a side of scrambled eggs. Anyways, my name is Siena Pullinzi. I’m a sophomore at Nazareth College in Rochester, New York (yes, it does exist), majoring in Studio Art and minoring in Psychology. Even though I’m not studying fashion, I’ve always had a love for clothes and putting together different outfits.

My style consists of high-waisted jeans, crop tops, baggy sweaters or cardigans and combat boots, all of which are in various shades of black or earth tones (what can I say, I like my neutrals!). I believe in the statement “less is more” when it comes to putting together an outfit. Since I am in the studio all day, too many accessories would unfortunately get in the way, so I like to keep it simple. Ultimately, what would I label my style as? Probably hipster-chic. I’m not a huge fan of dressing like everyone else. I enjoy finding items that people would consider odd and making them intriguing.

I am an artist. Well, I’d like to consider myself as one. I enjoy watching movies, mainly horror, musicals and indie films. Some of my favorite movies are Donnie Darko, Rocky Horror Picture Show and pretty much anything directed by Tim Burton. I like reading, playing around with makeup, watching YouTube beauty gurus and cats. I have an obsession with oddities, food, cafes with great bagels and amazing coffee and the smell of lavender. I try to surround myself with what I love every day. I feel as though that’s what keeps people happy.

As a Style Guru, I promise to inspire you with new fashion ideas every month. This is my first blog, so please just bear with me. The look that you see is an easy look that you can wear multiple ways. I tend to buy dresses or clothing items that you can wear during the day and at night. Here, I am wearing a denim shirt dress paired with black booties and a green purse for a pop of color. For an additional pop of color, I put on one of my favorite Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matter Lip Color lipstick (boy that is a long name) in the shade Touch of Spice. A few simple pieces of jewelry complete the outfit, and you’re ready to go, whether it’s off to class or a lunch date with friends!

Stayed tuned for next month’s ensemble. Here’s to a fashionable semester back!
