Welcome ladies, gents and everything in between. My name is Shani Hogan, and while I figure out what to do with my future, I’m kicking it at Nassau Community College for the semester. While my major is still unclear, I do know that I love photography and fashion (and often the two together). I may not be reading all of the latest fashion magazines, but you will definitely catch me scrolling through Instagram and getting my weekly dose of Project Runway.
If it were not for the Internet, I would be stylistically challenged. The majority of my fashion influences have come from YouTube and Tumblr. While the lovely beauty gurus of YouTube show me what I should buy, branching out into Polyvore is what really helps me piece things together. For all of you social media savvy people, you know that Tumblr is where all of the magic happens. Tumblr has been dictating all of the fashion among teens for the last several years, and it has definitely influenced how my personal style has and still is evolving.
If I were to describe my personal style with one term, it would be multifaceted. It’s a conglomerate of Clarissa Explains It All, monochromatic minimalism and a Free People catalogue. I prefer dark colors and neutrals and as we move further into fall, I will not hesitate to bust out the dark lip colors and chunky sweaters.
