Hello fellow Fashionistas/os and happy fall! My name is Martha Leo and I am a freshman at the University of Pittsburgh. I am currently in the business school pursuing a double major in Marketing as well as Supply Chain Management with hopes of one day pursuing a career in the fashion industry. This is my second semester writing as a CollegeFashionista Style Guru and I could not be happier to be returning!
Fashion is something that I have been passionate about for as long as I can remember. I grew up with a very stylish group of women in my life including my mother and my older sister. I personally think that they are what kindled my passion for fashion from an early age. When it became time for me to choose a general career path, I felt a lot of pressure to join the medical field (mostly because my mother, father, sister, aunts, you name it, were ALL in the field of medicine). But I knew that pursuing my interest in the fashion industry would provide me with a happier life in the end. I now cannot even imagine or see myself in another field and am so happy that I have made the decisions that I have. I hope to one day be involved in styling or buying and feel that a degree in business will start me off in the right direction.
My personal sense of style is what I consider to be very simple, minimalist and comfortable. I love adding a twist to modern trends by adding a few vintage pieces here and there. I’m always surfing the web to find new places to shop and love to adventure to local new places as well. I work at a local boutique here in Pittsburgh and absolutely love it. It’s given me a great handle on the buying, selling and advertising involved in running a local business (and being around all of the AMAZING clothes doesn’t hurt either).
I am so excited to be a part of the CollegeFashionista family and look forward to continue my journey as a Style Guru! I cannot wait to see what new trends are coming up this fall and what all of my fellow Fashionistas/os have to say about them!
