STYLE GURU BIO: Lindsie Shood

Hi Fashionistas, my name is Lindsie Shood, and this is my second time being a Style Guru! I am currently heading into my second semester of college at Kent State University, majoring in fashion merchandising. I love my major, and cannot wait to see how my knowledge of the fashion industry expands.

Spring in Ohio is nearly unpredictable; you never know what the weather is going to be.  So, there are many different outfit options. I can’t wait to share with everyone how I survive the unbearable cold, and the slightly warmer days.

My own personal style is a mix of leggings, ripped jeans, oversized sweaters and sweatshirts, flannels, black boots, and vests. I love layering with coats and sweaters, and piecing new looks this way. During the spring months, boots are still incorporated into a large part of my outfits. I have a large array of black boots that I essentially pair with every outfit. Being on campus, I see so many different styles, which inspire me to create my own looks. Going to a school where a large portion of people are fashion majors only challenges me to improve my own fashion sense, which I hope to share through my articles.

In this look, I am wearing all a simple, go-to all black outfit which includes leggings and a long sleeve shirt. Over it, I threw a super comfy oversized wool vest. To add something to the outfit I threw on an opal necklace, with a long chain. For my shoes, I chose a short, black boot. This is an outfit that I could throw on to go to class, hangout with friends, go to dinner, or essentially anything. I love choosing outfits that have so much flexibility, and can be worn for many different occasions.

I hope you all enjoy my articles for this semester, and can find some inspiration within them! I can’t wait to see what is to come!
