STYLE GURU BIO: Lauren Pannell

Hello beautiful people of the Internet! My name is Lauren Pannell, and I am so happy to be part of the #GuruGang for this upcoming fall semester. This is my second semester writing for CollegeFashionista, and I am so excited to have the opportunity to continue writing about awesome outfits!

For some background information on yours truly, I am a sophomore studying public relations and sales management. I attend Purdue University, and I bleed black and gold. I love my school, the people in it and all of the amazing opportunities and organizations it has offered me. Other than stalking campus for Fashionistas/Fashionistos, you can find me hanging out with friends, dancing FTK at PUDM or taking naps. Purdue is such an amazing place, and it is filled with so many diverse styles that I can’t wait to share with you!

For my own personal style, it switches daily. One day I’ll be preppy and classic, while other days I am grungy and edgy. Mostly I rock the athleisure trend, because wearing cute workout clothes without actually working out in them is a great idea. Comfort is key for me, and I believe that whatever makes you comfortable and confident is the perfect outfit. In this look today, I am showing off my school spirit in a Purdue lace-up T-shirt. This is a huge trend right now, and Lo + Jo Bands offers so many variations for every possible school. However, I personally followed a DIY tutorial to make my own (with the help of my beautiful mother)! To keep the look simple and casual, I paired my T-shirt with classic high-waisted denim shorts and white sneakers. I think this is the perfect outfit for tailgates, class or a casual night out with friends. The best part about the DIY shirt is that it allows you to choose what shirt you decide to “lace-up” and you can really have a lot of fun customizing it!

Overall, I’m a girl who loves fashion, but wants to enjoy it a comfortable and affordable way. While I splurge from time to time, I personally believe that there are so many great affordable options for staying on trend and having staple items for your wardrobe. I look forward to sharing with you all some of my favorite fashion and beauty trends this semester, and I cannot wait to read other Fashionistas/Fashionistos posts as well!
