STYLE GURU BIO: Jessica Terrones

Hello friends, I am Jessica Terrones. I’m a junior studying Journalism at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I was Cali-born (Santa Barbara, to be exact) and Vegas-raised! My heart will always be in California and one day I hope to move back. I currently write the breaking news at the Las Vegas Review-Journal however, my dream job is to write for a fashion magazine. I also work in retail as a stylist. I love putting different pieces together and breaking the “fashion rules.” I don’t think anyone has only one particular style. Some days I feel girly, some days I feel a lil’ hood, some days I want to look like a Kardashian and other days I’m just too lazy to get ready! I think it’s fun to explore new styles, trends and break out of our comfort zone every once in a while! I think it’s equally as important to update your wardrobe and change up your style a few times a year (at least that’s my excuse for always shopping…)

When I’m not at school or work I like to spend my free time napping, obsessing over every dog I see, binge watching New Girl or Gossip Girl on Netflix for the tenth time, going on late night In-N-Out runs and shopping, duh! Fun fact: sometimes when I’m bored I just go to Target, I don’t even get anything I just walk around.. just me? My favorite thing to do in my free time is gaze over magazines, fashion blogs (and fashion blogger’s Insta’s). I gain so much inspiration from others and my surroundings. In fact, I am currently working on launching my personal blog: The Inspired Style. I plan to make this a fashion/lifestyle/beauty/faith blog and I picked the name because I am inspired by so much!

This look is one of my go-to’s. As I previously mentioned, I am a stylist and I work at Bebe on the Las Vegas strip. Because of that, we have a strict dress code. If you’re anything like me, your day is booked from start to finish and that means you don’t have time to change into a different outfit after work, you just make it work! For work I will wear this black dress and necklace with a sandal or low wedge. After work if I were to go out with friends or go out on a date I would add the leather jacket and strappy heels to dress it up! I also added the sunglasses because I live in them!

I hope that through my internship at CollegeFashionista, I can inspire and be inspired by others. My goal is to showcase not only my style but others’ styles as well. I believe the best way someone can express themselves is through fashion. I want to help my fellow college gals and guys find their sense of style and express themselves all while on a college-student’s budget!

Thanks for reading, talk soon!
