STYLE GURU BIO: Jenna Mrocko

Hello fashionable friends! I cannot wait to begin my third semester as a member of the Style Guru gang. Aside from being a part of the raddest team of Fashionistas, I would consider myself a pretty simple gal: I have a love for collecting pencils, I enjoy good company with a cozy cup of coffee and I never turn down an afternoon of watching HGTV. Although I am a born and raised Michigander, I ended up in Ohio for school at Miami University. As I enter my junior year as a marketing and journalism double major, I plan to continue working towards a career in the world of fashion advertising or public relations.

So, what makes me a Style Guru? I would typically consider my style as simple and preppy, yet spending the summer studying abroad in Italy has inspired me to grunge up my look. Street fashion in Europe has a certain fanciful flare to it, making it almost irresistible to imitate (or at least try to). When it comes to personal style, I try to step out of my comfort zone little by little, adding in touches of new aesthetics and influences of new experiences to an already established Jenna look.

For this outfit, the metal detail and geometric aspects of my suede skirt, “messy up” its tailored, neutral design. Peep toe booties and tortoise mirrored sunglasses work towards my efforts of incorporating more edgy, textured accessories, while staying true to classic patterns. Mixing textures and colors can be a great way to maintain balance and cohesion in an outfit.

While my style may not stay grunge for long, I am excited for the opportunity to continue exploring the trends of my campus and documenting my own style’s evolvement.

Here’s to another RAD semester!
