STYLE GURU BIO: Heba Saeed

Hello fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Heba Saeed. I’m a senior majoring in Interior Design at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Ever since I was a little girl, my mom used to dress me up in overly fluffed up, Shirley Temple style dresses, so I always had that feminine style from a young age. Once I started to wear the hijab (head scarf), my style transitioned to looser and more modest wear. In middle school, I donned khaki pants and athletic shirts. So I was always asked if I shopped in the boy’s section because my frame was so small and my clothes so baggy.
But, over the years (and once my mother stopped shopping for me), I began to find my own style. I had started my journey to find clothing that were both modest and stylish.
This was when my true passion for fashion began. I had to search through so many stores just to find modest clothing because I wouldn’t always find that in your average magazine, especially when it was a spring/summer edition.
My top stores to shop at would definitely have to be H&M and Target. My style could be categorized as sometimes girly and sometimes edgy, but always comfortable. I love being outdoors and hanging with friends, so I always need to make sure I can move around in whatever I wear.
This is my first semester with CollegeFashionistas as a Style Guru. I’m totally looking forward to it, not only because I get to write amazing articles, but also because fall is my favorite season and has by far the greatest fashion. As you can see in my outfit, I’m already rocking a plaid shirt and a pair of gray booties, in honor of fall.
