STYLE GURU BIO: Chelsea Clodfelder

I’m a small town girl with small town dreams… wait, that’s not how the saying goes, is it? Well, it is for me! I grew up in a town with just 600 people in rural Indiana and I wouldn’t change a thing! There’s just something about cornfields around every corner, tractors causing traffic jams and summertime spent around a bonfire with your closest friends, that makes me never want to leave this small rural community of mine.

When high school ended and I had to escape for a little while to attend college, I chose the one that was closest to home. I chose Purdue University. After switching my major a whopping four times, I ended up in the College of Agriculture studying Agriculture Communications. “Home sweet home” it was to me. I enjoy it so much and finally feel confident on the career path it will lead me down.

Aside from my small town dreams, there was a burning passion for fashion in this small town girl’s heart. I love the life we live here in rural Indiana, but I was always the girl who looked more like she was embarking on a trip to Chicago for the day, rather than her county fair (seriously—it is the only event we have, really). It is not easy to have this kind of love for clothes when you live a good forty minutes from the mall, but I have managed to always get my fashion fix by developing quite the shopping problem. That, of course, was only worsened when I started working at Purdue’s local boutique three years ago!

My love for this industry grows everyday, and whether or not it is where my career lies, it is an industry that I will always be very passionate about. I am so excited to start my fall internship here at CollegeFashionista. I have a feeling it is going to be RAD!
